"What next, the sun and the rest of the day?"
- commedian Dana Gould.
Lynne and I were IMing the other day about job woes and a recent interview. She mentioned Bowie's happiness with his new job, that he 'looked forward to getting up in the morning.'
I wonder what that's like. For me, I've always looked forward to going to bed. Sleep has always been my sanctuary; too bad I have to be unconscious to attain it.

You could try stripping. They don't have to get up early.

Looking forward to going to work is awesome. I wouldn't want it to be any other way. I consider myself lucky to have attained that so early. Some people will never have that pleasure in a lifetime.
If you know what it is that would make you eager to go to work, you could start taking little steps in that direction. Even if the move is slow and gradual, just the fact of making progress would make your current job more enjoyable. And if you don't know what it is you'd like to do, go see a career counselor. You're never too old for good advice.
See, I don't hate my job. Sure, there are times when I do, but overall, it's not bad. I like all of my co-workers, and even a few of the clients.
That said, I don't love it either. I sure as hell don't wake up singing "the hills are alive with musiiiiiiiic" because A) I hate that so much and B) I don't even know the rest of the words.
A career counselor is a great idea, Nathalie. Thanks, I'll look into it. I just have to figure out what I'd enjoy doing.
